It’s okay. We’re all friends here. You can tell us.
You sing to your pet.
And maybe you make up lyrics about your pet to use in the song.
Don’t worry you’re not alone. I do it too.
Sure, my lyrics might not be Grammy worthy, but I don’t care and my critters don’t seem to care either.
This past Saturday I found out how much 1 of my critters enjoys it. Kijivu is my fearful African Grey. He’s come a long way, but we still have a ways to go before he has trust in me. He talks, but not in front of me (in front of other people he’s a little chatter box), but he will now talk when I’m on the same floor of the house as he is (before any indication I was nearby and he shut up like a clam).
So I’ve been eavesdropping and on Saturday I heard him go “What Kijivu. What Kijivu.” in a little sing songing tone. No one else would know it, but he is starting to sing the song I sing him that goes- “ What’s up Kijivu? Woah- woah-o. What’s up Kijivu? Woah-woah-o-o. Kijivu, Kijivu I love you. I sure do. I love you Kijivu I do.” mostly based on Tom Jones’ What’s New Pussycat (if you are too young to know who Tom Jones is, ask your Grandma. She loved him!).
Kijivu I do love you because finally someone appreciates my singing!
