All of my co-workers have pets and they’re happy to talk pets when we are working together. There’s even been a few times they’ve called me under the guise of work to ask me a pet question. My supervisor, who is not a huge pet person, even called me back after we just hung up from talking work stuff to ask how my dog, Malarky, was doing after her emergency surgery last week. They might think I’m nuts to have all the animals I have and do all the animals things I like to do, but they understand.
I have a friend who isn’t so lucky. Her co-workers aren’t pet people and they seem to enjoy finding ways to upset her when it comes to animals (and these are women!). She hates it. I probably wouldn’t last long surrounded by those people.
How do your co-workers treat your love of pets? Do they listen, laugh and empathize or do they think you are crazy?
