I follow a lot of blogs in different niches and I’ll be honest, I can’t remember what the first post I read on these blogs was. But I do remember what the first post I read on My Brown Newfies. It was What Type Of Person Would You Be? . I remember it because dog drool is my kryptonite. I fall somewhere between 2 and 3 on Jen’s slobber tolerance scale only due to politeness and repetitive exposure through years of working with dogs. Otherwise, I’m afraid I’d probably be a 1.
As you can imagine with 2 Newfs, Jen writes a lot of posts about drool-
So what is a sialorrhea phobe like me doing reading a blog about Newfs where slobber has it’s own category?
While Leroy and Sherman are the headliners, you’ll also find Jen posting about her kids, Gracie and Bobby, Beagle family member Plunger, and new addition Gibby the Guinea pig. Add in a husband and you can bet we get to read about a range of topics- dogs, kids, health topics and, yes, slobber. It doesn’t matter what the topic, Jen writes from the heart and with a great sense of humor.
After all, you need a sense of humor to share with the whole world that your dog pants you…in public. (See why mom always said to wear clean underwear!)
Accompanying her posts are beautiful pictures. Jen’s photography skills are killer. She even won a BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Award for Best Blog Photo. Yeah, I’m jealous but it’s well deserved! (Check out the Black and White Sunday posts. They’re my favorite.)
I’m not a mom. I’m not married. I live a dog slobber-free lifestyle. But there are so many things I can relate to on My Brown Newfs.
- When I was younger, I made a bet with my mom that I would keep my room clean and be able to get a pet. (easy to do with a mom who’s an animal lover, am I right Bobby?:>).
- I’ve shown dogs.
- I’ve had a small pet get away from me in the great outdoors and was lucky to get them safely back into custody.
- I think people bring way to much poop in for fecal checks too (we really did not stand back there looking through poop for worms. Who would want that job?)
Most of all I can relate to Jen’s pride of being a Pet Blogger- I Say It Loud and I Say It Proud: I Am a Pet Blogger! While no one in my off line world understands blogging (or why I would want to do it), it’s nice to know there are other pet bloggers like Jen, who love blogging for the same reasons I do.
